Aaron D. Klein
Aaron is the Founder and Managing Partner of Equilibre Capital.
Aaron brings a background in investment banking and private equity, and experience on both the buy and sell sides of over $13 billion of institutional private equity transactions, across a range of sectors, from large infrastructure, regulated utilities and energy to special situations industrials, natural resources, online ventures, educational services, and industrial minerals.
Prior to founding Equilibre in 2011, Aaron was a Vice-President of LambdaStar Infrastructure Partners, an infrastructure-focused private equity fund, and previously an Associate with the Macquarie Group in New York. At both firms he played integral roles in the execution of principal infrastructure investments, with responsibilities including leading deal teams, valuation and business planning teams, arranging and negotiating committed acquisition debt financing, managing due diligence processes and supporting in negotiation of sale and purchase agreements.
Among the transactions in which participated were the $7.4 billion public-to-private acquisition of Puget Sound Energy (NYSE: PSD), the $865 million sale of Michigan Electric Transmission Company, the $860 million acquisition of Aquarion Water Company, the $259 million acquisition of Hawaii Gas Company, as well as the $1.8 billion acquisition and subsequent AUD $2.35 billion IPO of Boart Longyear.
Aaron holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University with First Class joint Honors in Economics and Finance, and a Master of Finance from INSEAD.
